Sahaviriya Steel Industries PLC or SSI, represented by Mr. Nava Chantanasurakon, the President of SSI, received the plate and certificate of honor for the Good Role Model Establishment and Enterprise on Labor Relations following the Sufficiency Economy and the Welfare Committee in the Establishment 2023 from Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Labour, at the meeting room on the 5th floor of the Ministry of Labor on September 5, 2023. These awards were results from the implementation of sufficiency economy philosophy as guidelines for development of quality of life of the employees to make them able to rely on themselves on sustainable basis.
Following the royal permission granted by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn to the Ministry of Labor by Department of Labor Protection and Welfare to undertake the Good Labor Relations Project following the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy, this project has been undertaken since 2021 up to present with aims to encourage the employers and the employees to adopt the sufficiency economy philosophy with their way of lives for their self-reliance. In this regard, the establishments are encouraged to use their existing resources, such as vacant land or space to plant home-grown vegetables, or agricultural products or to raise animals. Productivity will be for consumption or for sales to reduce burdens on cost of living, which is the starting point of the sufficiency economy. This year, the Ministry of Labor has proclaimed and presented the awards to the establishments and the enterprises which successfully implemented the sufficiency economy philosophy as the guidelines for development of quality of life of employees, to create mutual benefits between the employer and the employees, as well as to be the role model for other establishments on cultivating guidelines on taking care of quality of life of the employees to make them work happily with security and to have strong immunity that they can rely on themselves concretely and sustainably.
