Mr. Jira Chotinuchit, Senior Vice President, Head of Group Procurement Office, Sahavirya Steel Industries PLC, presided over the opening of the 2023 Supplier Seminar and the award presentation ceremony to the outstanding suppliers for 2022. During the seminar, the regulation, policy and target on procurement in 2023 of SSI Group has been clarified by focusing on sustainable procurement which is the procurement process that takes into consideration the factors on pricing, delivery and qualifications covering economic, social and environmental aspects. lead time on procurement and delivery of spare parts, materials and other tools will be reduced and the number of efficient and credible suppliers/service providers who have ability to reduce cost will be increased. Efficiency of materials, spare parts and equipment will be developed and improved for maximum benefits. Production cost will be reduced and equivalent spare parts and equipment with better quality will be replaced. Products in the green procurement project will be procured to support climate change project.
The management of the SSI Group also clarified business overview on business operations of each company to exchange idea and build good relationship for business transaction between the buyers and the suppliers of the companies in SSI Group. During the award presentation ceremony, the shield awards have been presented to 8 outstanding suppliers and certificates have been presented to 20 suppliers. This year, there were more than 200 interested persons participated in this activity which has been held at SSI Auditorium, Bangsaphan. Moreover, special event has been arranged where the team of suppliers have been invited to visit operations and production processes of the companies in the SSI Group.
