SSI Group and its suppliers contributed fund for construction of negative pressure room for Bangsaphan Hospital in the emergency room, Outpatient and Trauma Building. This negative pressure room has been designed, developed, and supervised on construction by the team of engineers of Sahahiriya Steel Industries PLC. This effort is made under the Save Bangsaphan Cooperation Project to prevent spread of disease, increase safety to team of doctors and people who use services at Bangsaphan Hospital. Dr. Cherdhcai Chayawatto, Director of Bangsaphan Hospital received such support fund while Mr. Lertyos Yamprai, Chief District Officer of Bangsaphan and Mr. Vichien Katengam, Headman of Kamnerd Noppakum Sub-district witnessed this support.
This collaboration occurred because the number of COVID-19 patients in Prachuab Khiri Khan Province greatly increased and Bangsaphan District is one of the districts which have been affected by such situation, so Bangsaphan Hospital urgently needed the negative pressure rooms. Therefore, in order to conform to the objectives of the Save Bangsaphan Cooperation Project on taking care of and minimizing impacts to team of doctors, medical personnel and people in Bangsaphan, Sahaviriya Steel Group jointly invested with the supplier groups on construction of negative pressure room which has been designed, developed, and supervised on construction by the team of engineers of Sahahiriya Steel Industries PLC in conformity with specifications of the Design and Construction Division, Department of Health Service Support, Ministry of Public Health which specified that the room must be designed to have pressure -5 Pascal lower than outside, 12-15 ACH (Air Change per Hour) with HEPA Filter (High Efficiency Particulate Air) and UV ray for disinfectant before discharging to outside of the building, so that air emitted will not cause pollution to the surrounding communities.
This negative pressure room is the 3rd room supported by SSI Group. Formerly the group constructed and delivered 2 negative pressure rooms at emergency room and dentistry unit of Bangsaphan Hospital.
