Sahaviriya Steel Industries Plc. (SSI) executives and staffs led by Mr. Manin Inprom, Vice president, joined hands with Mae Rumphueng Sub District Administration Organization, entrepreneurs and local people in Mae Rumphueng subdistrict, totaling more than 815 people, to participate in “SSI Beach Clean-Up,” by cleaning and enhancing the appearance along 3 kilometers of Mae Rumphueng beach on the occasion of the World Environment Day 2017. The purpose of the activities is to enhance local people’s participation in environmental protection. The event took place at Mae Rumphueng beach, Bangsaphan, Prachuap Khiri Khan, and was presided over by Mr.Sakkarin Thumsen, Bangsaphan District-Chief Officer.
In addition, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) sets a theme for the World Environment Day 2017 ‘Connecting People to Nature’, and the slogan, “I’m With Nature”, implores people to get outdoors and into nature, to appreciate its beauty and its importance, and to take forward the call to protect the Earth that their share.
