1990

  • SSI was established with registered capital of Baht 4,000 million. (13 March 1990), Currently, the company has a registered capital of 871,646,772,055.00 baht.
  • SSI received promotional certificate no. 1140/2533 for the investment on hot rolled steel sheet in coil manufacture from the Board of Investment (BOI). (8 September 1990)
  • SSI established Prachuap Port Co., Ltd., a 51% owned subsidiary, with registered capital of Baht 400 million to provide deep-sea port services. (4 October 1990)

1992

  • SSI has jointly invested in Thai Coated Steel Sheet Company Limited to produce electro-galvanized steel sheets in coils (17 February 1992)
  • SSI sent 85 engineers and technical staff to Italy for study visits and technology training (May)
  • The company increased capital to 4,800 million baht (October)

1994

  • The company increased capital to 4,800 million baht (January).
  • SSI was registered as a public company. (24 March 1994)
  • First hot-rolled coil produced. (23 Aprill 1994)
  • Company listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand (8 September 1994)

1995

  • SSI received approval from the Board of Investment to expand production capacity from 1.8 to 2.4 million tons per year (13 March 1995)
  • SSI jointly invested in Thai Cold Rolled Steel Sheet Public Company Limited (7 June 1995)

1999

  • SSI established West Coast Engineering Company Limited, a subsidiary in which the company holds a 99.99% stake, to provide maintenance, design, and engineering control services to the company and other clients (๋January 1999)

2004

  • First hot rolled steel sheet pickled and oiled (Cleanstrip) produced (March 2004)
  • Exported pickled and oiled hot-rolled steel sheets for the first time (September 2004)

  • Held the official opening ceremony of the pickled and oiled hot-rolled steel sheet plant (October 2004)

2005

  • SSI expanded its HSM capacity from 2.4 to 4.0 million tons per annum (March 2005)
  • SSI enhanced its production capability to roll steel sheets ranging from 1.0 mm to 19.0 mm in thickness (March 2005)

2008

  • SSI produced high-quality hot-rolled steel coils with a minimum thickness of 0.80 mm (February 2008)

2020

  • The company’s ordinary shares were delisted from the Stock Exchange of Thailand (11 July 2020)

2025

  • Merged Thai Coated Steel Sheet Company Limited into Thai Cold Rolled Steel Sheet Public Company Limited (1 October 2025
