Mr. Padungsak Pranudomrat, Assistant Vice President, Group Sustainable Development and Communication, Sahaviriya Steel Industries Public Co., Ltd. (“SSI”), represented SSI to deliver the Sufficiency Economy in School for Sustainable Development Project to Mr. Jongrak Watsati, Director of Ban Tung Chueak School, Ronthong Sub-district, Bangsaphan District, Prachuab Khirikhan Province. The school committee, community leaders and the students’ parents also participated in and jointly congratulated at this event. The objectives of this project are to promote the right knowledge and understanding on sufficiency economy principle in schools and communities in order to create prototype sufficiency economy learning center in schools on sustainable basis as well as to help school reduce food costs. Other benefits of this project are that it can generate income to the students who participated in this activity and the students can apply knowledge gained for benefits of livelihood in their daily life.

Sahaviriya Group cooperated with Bangsaphan Wittaya School on arrangement of “Fulfill the Dream and Share Knowledge” project to prepare readiness of Bangsaphan local youth for admission to university by strengthening their academic knowledge and skills in 5 major subjects (Science-Mathematic-English-Thai-Sociology). Total 368 senior high school students (Matayom 6) from 4 schools located in Bangsaphan District and nearby areas, i.e. Bangsaphan Wittaya School, Chaikasem Wittaya School, Thanakan Omsin School and Bangsaphan Noi Wittayakom School participated in this project which was held at the Meeting Hall, Bang Saphan Wittaya School.

Provision of senior project funds under "SSI for Young Engineers" Program, the 1st year


Mr. Nava Chantanasurakon, Vice President – Commercial, Sahaviriya Steel Industries Public Co., Ltd. or "SSI" provided 7 senior project funds on structural steel, each with 10,000 Baht under "Structural Steel Improvement (SSI) for Young Engineers 2017" to the qualified engineering students of Faculty of Engineering, Department of Civil Engineering from Chulalongkorn University, Kasetsart University, King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi and Srinakharinwirot University. This program is aimed to encourage the engineering students who will become the engineers or the entrepreneurs in construction industries in the future to develop innovation and knowledge on efficiently and environmental friendly usage of structural steel which can contribute to development of the steel and construction industries and subsequent to the infrastructural industries of the country.

In addition, after the research has been completed, the SSI for Young Engineers Program will provide additional fund of 10,000 Baht and the most outstanding research work which will be decided by the expert committee will receive a fund of 20,000 Baht as a reward.

SSI organizes "To Be Engineer project" #12 Guide Bangsaphan youths the road to becoming a professional engineer


Sahaviriya Steel Industrial PCL or SSI recently arranged "To Be Engineer#12" project by inviting 100 students in M.5 level from schools in Bangsaphan participate in interesting activities e.g. knowing and understanding steel industry, Hot Roll Coil production process, SSI environmental management, and recreational activities relating to steel. The project aims to enhance the opportunity of engineering career to students and help them on education planning for future working in their homeland. The event was presided over by Mr.Manin Inprom, Vice President of Manufacturing of SSI.

SSI acquires Outstanding Empowerment for Persons with Disabilities Award 2017


Gen. Anantaporn Kanchanarat, Minister of Social Development and Human Security, has recently delivered a honorable plate "Outstanding Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Award 2017" (two consecutive years) to Mr. Padungsak Pranudomrat, Assistant Vice President Group Sustainable Development and Communications of Sahaviriya Steel Industries Plc. (SSI). The award was launched by Ministry of Social Development and Human Security to honor the organizations that continuously support persons with disabilities, as it was the International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2017, under the theme of "Transformation towards sustainable and resilient society for all". This ceremony was held at IMPACT Exhibition & Convention Center, Muang Thong Thani.

10th Kon-lek Mini Marathon 2017-Article

The executives of 5 steel giants, comprising of Sahaviriya Steel Industries Public Company Limited; Thai Cold Roll Steel Sheet Public Company Limited; NS Blue Scope (Thailand) Limited, NS-Siam United Steel Co., Ltd; and JFE Steel Galvanizing (Thailand) Company Limited, jointly presided over "The 10th Kon-lek Mini Marathon 2017" which raised our 2.38 million Baht for 21 charity foundations to support the underprivileged. At least, 1,400 participants joined the event held at Lumpini Park.

This year was the tenth anniversary of the event which has now raised approximately 24 million Baht in total. The aim is to continuously grow the event with a view to reaching 100 million Baht.

SSI-Bangsaphan people join Beach Clean-Up on World Environment Day 2017

SSI-Beach Clean-Up 2017-1

Sahaviriya Steel Industries Plc. (SSI) executives and staffs led by Mr. Manin Inprom, Vice president, joined hands with Mae Rumphueng Sub District Administration Organization, entrepreneurs and local people in Mae Rumphueng subdistrict, totaling more than 815 people, to participate in "SSI Beach Clean-Up," by cleaning and enhancing the appearance along 3 kilometers of Mae Rumphueng beach on the occasion of the World Environment Day 2017. The purpose of the activities is to enhance local people's participation in environmental protection. The event took place at Mae Rumphueng beach, Bangsaphan, Prachuap Khiri Khan, and was presided over by Mr.Sakkarin Thumsen, Bangsaphan District-Chief Officer.

In addition, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) sets a theme for the World Environment Day 2017 'Connecting People to Nature', and the slogan, "I'm With Nature", implores people to get outdoors and into nature, to appreciate its beauty and its importance, and to take forward the call to protect the Earth that their share.
